Throughout his time in the State Assembly, Reggie has spearheaded forward-thinking policies that create safer communities and make our criminal justice system fairer and more transparent for all communities. As the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Public Safety, Reggie has been steadfastly focused on getting guns of our streets and keeping our families safe, including:​

• Was repeatedly awarded Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate Distinction for his leadership in passing commonsense gun safety laws

• Co-authored a bill to re-introduce limits on carrying concealed weapons after it was struck down by the Supreme Court

• Launched an investigation into the state’s Armed and Prohibited Persons System, a program intended to keep guns out of the hands of potentially dangerous people.

• Supported a pioneering law cracking down on the sale of ghost guns

• Authored a law to provide additional resources to stop organized retail theft.

• Helped restore over $300 million to the court system after a decade of devastating budget cuts.
