City Hall is broken. After a decade of scandals and backroom deals have been brought to light, it’s clear that far more needs to be done to ensure our elected representatives are transparent and accountable to the voters, and that we have a City government that truly works for everyday Angelenos—not big developers or other special interests. It’s why in the State Assembly, Reggie is currently co-authoring legislation, endorsed by the L.A. Times, that would establish an independent citizen redistricting commission for the city, modeled on L.A. County’s and California’s independent commissions. On the City Council, Reggie will continue to push for an independent redistricting commission for Los Angeles, as well as expanding the size of the City Council so that members are more responsive to their constituents.
